The Depth of God

How do the moon and sun stay where they are supposed to be?

How does the ocean know where to stop?

What keeps the world turning?

Where is gravity from?

Who drew the lines for our galaxy?

Why are tomatoes considered fruits?

Who created colors?

The list could continue on but you get the point... There are so many questions that we don't have an answer to. Sure there might be a scientific answer to many of those questions but even those answers would probably just give us more questions. The same is true for our walk with God, and our relationships with Him. We have so many questions about the what, how, and why that went into the creation and still continue today. Many of the answers to those questions involve just having faith and accepting the fact that we don’t understand but God has a plan for our lives, for our country, and for the world. Although it is hard to accept this fact, I believe it is the only way to stay content in the midst of all of our questions.

Our society tells us to do our own research, question everything, and not to trust what anyone says until we have proven it to be true. We are told that knowledge is king and that if we choose to have blind faith in something that cannot be proven that we are ignorant. If you ask me, the world is ignorant for thinking that we can know it all. We were never supposed to know it all, if we knew it all we would have no need for a savior or a God. We would know what is right and was is wrong and sin would not exist in the world. The truth of the matter is that we don't know nearly as much as we think we do and we need God to guide us.

For some people, it is hard to accept that we cannot and will not have all of our questions answered on this side of eternity. I used to be one of those people and I am still working on it, but instead of worrying about not knowing the answers, I am trying to give them to God. when I handed over all of my questions to God I feel a sense of great peace. This is the feeling that comes from having a God that does have all of the answers and who knows the ultimate plan for my life.

So where do you stand? Are you someone who finds it easy to have faith or do you have to know the answers to everything? If I am being honest with myself and with you... I am both. I say I have faith that there is a grand plan and when all is going well I have peace in it but when things get tough I am the first person to start questioning. I guess it is human nature in me but I find it very difficult to not know the path before I began down the road. This is something I think I will always be working on until the day I am called home.

It is important to remember that there is a depth of knowledge that cannot be achieved in our human brains. We can study all of the resources provided and ask all of the right questions but some answers will be left unanswered. This might surprise you but there is a depth of knowledge that not even your mother has, and we all know mothers seem to have all of the answers. It is not about knowing all of the answers but knowing the one who is the answer to all of the questions.
