Working Against The Clock

A couple to weeks ago we set our clocks back for Daylight Savings Time and gained an extra hour in our day. We also lost an hour of light meaning that it gets dark much earlier. When this occurred it made me think about how important each moment we have is. It made me think about how we should be taking everything opportunity to grow in our faith and to be sharing our believers with others. Many times this can be hard to do especially when we are working against the clock.
For this post, I wanted to share a few ways I have to beat the clock and how I stay on track when time is racing by me.
Pray... although this seems like the most obvious way many times we overlook this important part of the connection we have with God. No matter where we are or what we are doing God wants to speak to us and wants to be a part of what we are doing. When we pray it doesn't have to be a long winded pray that covers every detail of our lives. God knows all of those details without us needing to voice them.
Study... We must always be seeking to know God better and to be seeming knowledge about His will for our lives. This means we should be seeking our Christian resources, book, or mentors that can widen our understanding of God and the Bible. I hope that this site can be one of those resources for you but I encourage you to seek out multiple sources.
Go to church... As I stated before one hour can completely change our day and our week this is no different when it comes to attending church. Going to church gives us the ability to be with God in a way that praying and studying lack. The church is the only place in which we can go to be in the physical presence of the Lord.
Go into the world... We cannot keep our faith to ourselves! We should be using our blessings and gifts to spread the love of God. This means doing the big things like volunteering but also doing the small things like telling our friends that we will pray for them and then actually following through with it.
I pray that this would be helpful when it feels like there isn't enough time in the day. Just remember that God exists outside of our understanding of time and as such it is never to late or to early to devote time to Him. Please also share ways you have found time in your busy schedule to spend time with God. I could always use a few more tricks up my sleeve.
