Over the past few weeks, we have been preparing for the arrival of the Savior, Jesus Christ. Now with Christmas two days away, the time has come for us to celebrate and give thanks to God for the best gift that was given and is continually given daily. Christmas is not just about time with family, opening gifts, and enjoying special food, although those are all wonderful things. No, the true meaning of Christmas is the birth of Jesus. It is a celebration of the beginning of our redemption story when Jesus entered into the world to save us from our sins. The gift of Christ is not just something to be celebrated one time a year and then forgotten about every other day. No, we should be celebrating the gift of Christ daily and we should be sharing it with everyone we meet. I am not encouraging you to quit everything you are doing and become one of those aggressive evangelists who pushed the faith on everyone they come in contact with. I believe there is a softer approach that we can all be taking to share God’s love.
How can we share the Spirit of God outside of the Christmas season? In my opinion, the best way to share the love of God is to be as much like God in our actions and our words as we can. You don’t have to stand on the stage to preach the life-altering love of God, it can be done in our small actions daily. If you look back at when you first believed I bet it wasn’t just because of one thing a preacher or priest said in one lesson. No, it was probably a lot of small things that pointed your attention to God, it was your grandma praying for you daily, the kindness of a stranger, the love and grace that was given to you by your parents, or maybe a friend sharing the story of how they came to know Jesus. There are so many ways we can show the love of God with our actions. Below are a few ideas that came to my mind about how we can share the Spirit of God every day of the year. If you have any additions to the list please share them in the comments or on our social media posts.
Give more than you receive
Encourage others
Give grace even when it is hard
Build a relationship
Share the story of how God has changed your life
Share how you have seen the love and grace of God
Don’t push your beliefs on others just show them through your actions
Respect others even if you don’t agree
Watch the words that come out of your mouth
Love others even when it hasn’t been earned
Pray for others
We want to wish you a Merry Christmas filled with much love!
